Configure Fax Forward to E-mail

1. In order to forward received faxes to an E-mail address, you must first configure the I-fax settings of your Brother machine to communicate with your e-mail server.  Click here for instructions.

note icon If you've already configured the machine's I-fax settings, go to step 2.

2. Open the Web Based Management, if it's not already open.

How to open the Web Based Management 

a. Print the machine's Network Configuration report to get the machine's IP Address.

b. Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the Brother machine.

c. Using the machine's IP Address, type: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx into the browser's address bar. (ex: http://192.168.1.2)

note icon If you've configured a password on your machine's network card, you must first enter the network password in the Login field Login at the top of the screen and submit it.  Your machine's default password may be one of the following based on manufacture date:

- initpass
- access
- Some machines will have it listed on the back next to "PWD".


If you've forgotten your password, you'll have to reset the network card to factory default to regain access to these settings. We cannot help you recover a lost password.

3. Click the Fax tab.

4. Click Remote Fax Options.

5. From the Fwd/Page/Store dropdown, select Fax Forward.

6. In the Fax Forward # field, select E-mail Address.

7. Enter the e-mail address that you'd like to recieve your forwarded faxes.

8. Select a File Type.

9. Choose a "Backup Print" option.  When turned on, a backup copy of the received fax will also be printed.

10. Click Submit.
